But you didn't.

And the time I dragged you to the beach

And you said it would rain, and it did.

I thought you would say, "I told you so."

But you didn't.

Do you remember all the times you tried to be serious

And I just giggled?

I thought you would leave me.

But you didn't.

There were lots of things you didn't do

And lots of things you did do.

You put up with me, tried to understand me

And loved me ...

And there were so many things I wanted to tell you

When you came home from Vietnam...
